An understandable quotation must at least contain these
- Product specifications, materials, packaging, minimum order quantity.
- For unit price and currency, as well as FOB / CIF / DDP, please see Trade Terms.
- Delivery date, whether the sample fee can be deducted, and the validity period of the quotation.
- The payment method is explained on another page or section, see How to collect payment in foreign trade.
Quoting a base price without a specific company name is equivalent to handing over the price to unknown inquiries. First search for the store or importer in products and confirm by phone or official website before sending a quote.
Do not include a complete quotation in the development letter
The first letter only invites you to see a sample or one page of the catalog. The complete PI is placed after the other person nods. For the structure of a development letter, see How to write a development letter.
A quotation is not a contract. Certification, labeling and customs clearance are subject to official documents.
